ViewLux Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
ViewLux fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 for a complete panel-and-post replacement, with most jobs finished in one to two days. We stock ViewLux-compatible posts, panels, brackets, and gate hardware on our trucks, so if your section has rotted at the base or pulled loose from the post, we can usually match it the same visit. The way most Miami owners discover a failure is simple: they push against the fence after a storm and feel the section shift, or they notice the bottom rail sitting in standing water after a heavy afternoon downpour. That moisture is the beginning of the end for the post footing and the bottom channel, and by the time it’s visible from the street, the fix is almost never a single screw.

Which ViewLux Models This Applies To
ViewLux installs across two primary series in South Florida: the Classic solid-panel line and the Horizon semi-privacy line with slatted inserts. Both use the same U-channel post profile, but the Horizon series panels are roughly 3 inches wider per section, which means a Classic post will not accept a Horizon panel without shimming, and a shimmed panel is the first thing to crack in wind. If you’re trying to identify what you have, look at the inside face of any post cap. ViewLux stamps the series code there: VL-C for Classic, VL-H for Horizon. If the stamp is faded, measure the panel thickness. Classic runs 1.2 inches thick; Horizon runs 1.5 inches. On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for ViewLux specifically, the aftermarket brackets are fine, but we will not install aftermarket post caps. The OEM caps have a drainage weep slot that aftermarket versions skip, and standing water in the post is what kills the footing in Miami’s wet season, every time.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your ViewLux Fence Installation Is Failing
- Panel lean at the post line: The post footing has settled or the concrete has cracked at grade. Miami’s limestone-heavy soil expands, and a post set in a narrow hole will heave within a few seasons.
- Bottom rail sagging or touching soil: The bottom U-channel is holding water against the panel edge. Once the vinyl wicks moisture into the aluminum stiffener, the rail rusts from the inside and the panel drops.
- Gate dragging or latch misaligned: The hinge post has shifted. This is the highest-stress point on any ViewLux fence, and it’s almost always the post, not the hinges.
- White chalk on your hands after touching the fence: UV oxidation from Miami sun is normal, but heavy chalking means the UV stabilizer in the panel has degraded. The panel isn’t dead yet, but it’s lost its flex and will crack easier on the next impact.
- Rattling panel during wind gusts: The retaining clips inside the post channel have snapped. The panel is still held by the top and bottom rails, but it’s now a sail, and a strong gust can pull a full section free.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A ViewLux fence installation in Miami, fully permitted and installed, lands between $4,130 and $10,620 depending on how many linear feet you’re replacing, whether the posts can be reused or need re-footing, and what the old fence leaves behind in the ground. The low end covers a partial section swap: new panels, new brackets, new caps, existing posts confirmed straight and solid. The high end is a full tear-out and reset: old concrete broken out, new footings poured to Miami-Dade wind-load standards for fencing, all new posts, panels, gate hardware, and a re-hung gate that closes itself instead of dragging. Every quote is a written line-item price before we start. No change orders, no verbal estimate that grows on the final bill. Our workmanship warranty covers the installation for 365 days from the completion date, which means if a post settles or a panel loosens within that year, we come back and fix it at no cost.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look at whether the post caps are seated flat, whether the bottom rail is touching soil, and whether the gate post moves when you push it with one hand. What you should not do is try to pull and reset a post that has heaved. The post is under compression from the panel weight, and the panel is under tension from the clips. Release one incorrectly and the panel drops, the rail cracks, or the post snaps back toward you. If the failure is at the post or the gate hinge, call us at (850) 780-8123. Isaac Pruett will tell you what he’s seeing, what it costs, and when it’s done. He means all three.
FAQs

With proper installation, a ViewLux fence in Miami lasts 15 to 20 years on the panels, but the post footings usually need attention around year 10 because our wet and dry seasons cycle the soil enough to shift shallow concrete.
It depends on what failed. A snapped internal clip is repairable in place for under $200 on most sections. A cracked panel or a rusted bottom rail is not repairable; we replace the panel and reuse the posts if they’re still square. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll tell you which one you have before we schedule anything.
A partial section replacement is usually done in one day. A full tear-out and reset with new footings takes two days for most Miami yards. We’ll give you the schedule in writing with your quote.
Yes. We keep ViewLux Classic and Horizon panels, U-channel posts, brackets, caps, and gate hinge kits in our Miami inventory. If you have a less common ViewLux series, we can order it by the series stamp on your post cap, usually within a few days. We also stock parts for KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone product lines, so if you have multiple failing pieces across your home, we can bundle the visit.
