Sterling Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Sterling driveway and paver parts in Miami typically cost $295 to $21,240 installed, depending on whether you’re sealing, repairing a section, or replacing the full run. We stock the common failure points on our trucks, and most paver repairs here are done in a single visit. The way Miami homeowners usually find us is a sunken edge after a summer storm, a weed line that won’t quit, or a paver that’s cracked clean through from a car turning in the same spot for five years.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably got a driveway that’s doing something it shouldn’t: pooling water, shifting at the edges, or pavers that sit proud of the sand line and catch a toe. Sterling makes a solid product, but South Florida is hard on driveways. Limestone base material breaks down in our wet season. Sand joints wash out. And the relentless sun does a number on any sealer, no matter whose name is on the can. You want the right part matched to your existing run, priced honestly, and installed without drama. That’s what we do.
Which Sterling Models This Applies To

Sterling’s paver and paving-stone lines fall into three families: the Classic series (3⅛” thick, rectilinear shapes, the most common in older Miami subdivisions), the Estate series (2⅜” thick, larger-format pieces popular in newer builds), and the Permeable series (wider joints for drainage, required in some Miami-Dade projects). The gotcha is thickness. If your driveway was laid with 3⅛” pavers and you patch with 2⅜”, you’ll feel the difference every time you pull in, and the patch will fail first.
To identify your part, look at the paver edge. Sterling stamps the series name on the bottom face, and the thickness is cast in. If the stamp is gone or the paver is fractured, measure a clean edge at the driveway perimeter. For OEM replacements, you’re matching series, thickness, and color lot. For aftermarket, the color will never match exactly, not in Miami sun, not in year one. We tell clients that straight: if you’re replacing one or two pavers, OEM is worth the wait and the cost. If you’re replacing a full section, a quality aftermarket match saves real money and the tone difference blends within a season.

Signs Your Sterling Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Edges sinking or dropping along the curb line. That’s base failure underneath. Miami’s wet season saturates the limestone sub-base, it loses compaction, and the paver follows. You can’t fix this from the top.
- Sand joints blowing out after every rain. In Miami, this is the number one early symptom. Joint sand holds the paver system together. Once it’s gone, pavers start shifting and cracking against each other.
- Crumbling or flaking paver surfaces. Sterling pavers are dense, but salt from coastal air and standing water after a storm will strip the surface over time. What you’re seeing is the paver body breaking down, not a surface stain.
- A paver cracked in a diagonal line near the driveway entry. This is a turning-stress crack. Cars cut the corner, torque the paver, and the edge gives. It always spreads unless the paver is replaced and the joint re-sanded.
- Weeds rooted through the joints in the same places every month. Weeds don’t grow through solid pavers. They grow through failing joints, and the root is pushing from underneath, slowly dismantling your base layer.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Driveway sealing in Miami runs $295 to $825. Repairing a section of pavers typically lands between $826 and $2,360, depending on how much base material has to come out and go back in. A full paver driveway replacement is $8,260 to $21,240, and a paver patio runs $4,130 to $12,980. Those are installed prices: parts, labor, haul-away, new base material where needed, and re-sanded joints. We do not hand you a parts-only quote and then surprise you with labor on the invoice. You’ll get a line-by-line written price before work starts, and it doesn’t move unless we find something structurally wrong when we open the ground.
Every repair is covered by our written guarantee for 365 days from the completion date. If a paver we set shifts or a joint we sanded fails inside a year, we come back and make it right at no charge. That includes a free return visit, no dispute process, no conditions. Live person answers the phone when you call.
DIY or Call Us?
Here’s the honest split. If you’ve got minor joint sand loss and the pavers haven’t shifted, you can sweep in polymeric sand yourself on a dry weekend and get another year out of it. If a single paver is cracked but sitting flat, you can often swap it with a matching spare if you still have one and if the base is solid. What you shouldn’t do is remove more than a few pavers at once without knowing how to re-compact the base, what bedding depth you need, or how to re-edge the run so it holds. We’ve walked too many Miami driveways where somebody’s weekend repair became a two-day excavation because the base let go a month later.
If the pavers are shifting, the edge is dropping, or water pools against the foundation after rain, call us. Isaac Pruett can read a driveway in about ten minutes and tell you exactly what failed, what it costs to fix, and what can wait. Call (850) 780-8123.
FAQs

A properly installed Sterling paver driveway should last 25-35 years in Miami, but the base layer typically needs attention around the 10-15 year mark. What Miami weather does is wear the surface and wash out joints faster than you’d see in a drier climate, so expect to re-sand and seal every 3-4 years. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll tell you honestly whether your run is a candidate for repair or replacement.
In most cases, no. A cracked paver has already failed structurally, and patching it with epoxy or filler looks worse within a month and fails again within a year in Miami weather. Replacing the paver and re-setting the joint is the permanent fix. Call (850) 780-8123 for an exact quote.
A small paver replacement usually takes one visit, around 2-4 hours including base prep and joint sanding. A full driveway replacement is a 3-5 day job in Miami, depending on the size of the run and whether we’re hauling out the old base. We’ll put the timeline in your written quote.
We keep the most common Sterling Classic and Estate pavers on our trucks, plus joint sand, edge restraints, and base material. For less common colors or the Permeable series, we order OEM direct and it takes about a week in Miami. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll check what we have on hand for your series while you’re on the phone.
If you’re dealing with a failed paver, a sunken edge, or joints that wash out every time it rains, give us a call. We stock Sterling-compatible parts for three major product lines, and we also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for interior work if your project grows. Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Sterling. We just know how their products behave in Miami, and we fix them right.
