PGT Roofing: The Miami Owner’s Guide
We stock and install PGT-compatible roofing parts across Miami, with most replacements running between $470 and $2,125 installed depending on what failed and how much flashing work is involved. Most single-part replacements are done in one visit, usually two to four hours on site. You’ll typically find the problem after a heavy Miami storm: a drip line on the ceiling, a shingle or tile that’s shifted, or daylight showing through a gap that wasn’t there before. Some failures show up quietly, like rust staining at a fastener line or granules collecting in the gutter after months of salt air and sun.

We’re an independent Miami service provider, not a PGT dealer or factory store. What that means for you: we match parts to your existing PGT installation without pushing a full replacement unless it’s genuinely needed.
Which PGT Models This Applies To

PGT’s roofing product line in Florida covers impact-rated shingles, tiles, and metal profiles, but the parts that actually fail are usually the same across series: ridge caps, hip-and-ridge pieces, flashing, vent boots, and the fasteners and sealants that hold everything down. The compatibility gotcha most Miami owners hit is this: PGT trim and cap profiles changed between older and current series runs, and mixing a newer cap profile onto an older field will leave a visible seam and a weak overlap. If you bring us a photo of the part and a close-up of any label still attached, we can match it before we roll out.
OEM PGT parts are what we recommend for anything that’s still within a visible slope or ridge line. For hidden or low-stress pieces like vent collars or a section of drip edge, a quality aftermarket equivalent is usually fine and often costs 30 to 40 percent less. We’ll tell you which is which, and why, before you spend a dollar. Our trucks in Miami carry the common PGT-compatible profiles, plus matching sealants rated for coastal UV and salt exposure, so most jobs don’t need a second trip.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your PGT Roofing Is Failing
- Water staining on ceilings or upper walls after rain. This usually means a failed vent boot, a broken tile, or flashing that’s pulled away from a penetration. The water doesn’t always enter where the stain appears; it can travel a rafter before it drops.
- Loose or missing ridge caps after wind. Miami’s afternoon thunderstorms routinely peel ridge caps that were never back-nailed or adhered correctly. Once one lifts, water follows the exposed seam.
- Granules collecting in gutters or at downspout elbows. Granule loss accelerates fast in Florida’s UV and heat. A shingle that’s shedding noticeably is nearing the end of its useful surface, even if it isn’t leaking yet.
- Rust trails or white corrosion at fasteners and flashing points. Salt air is relentless. Galvanized fasteners that would last decades inland can fail in five to seven years close to the water. The rust stain is the first sign the metal is compromised.
- Daylight visible through the roof deck from inside the attic. If you can see light, water has a path. This is a call-today situation, not a put-it-on-the-list situation.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For PGT-compatible roofing work in Miami, here’s what we quote, installed:
- Roof repair, single part or small section: $470 – $2,125
- Full roof replacement: $9,440 – $23,600
- Tile roof repair: $710 – $2,950
The range on a single part comes down to access, the amount of flashing or sealant work around it, and whether we’re on a single-story hip or a two-story elevation with a steep pitch. Every quote includes parts, labor, disposal of the failed material, and a written line-item breakdown before any work starts. We don’t change the price after we open up the area unless we find hidden rot or deck damage, and if we do, we stop and show you before touching it. Workmanship is covered for 365 days from the completion date.
DIY or Call Us?
There are two things you can safely do before calling. First, take clear photos from ground level or a ladder you’re comfortable on. Second, check inside the attic with a flashlight for any corresponding water trails or daylight. What you should not do is get on a wet or steep Miami roof to pull back shingles or tiles, reseal flashing, or replace a ridge cap. Roof work at height kills experienced tradespeople every year, and a residential roof after a rain is slippery long after it looks dry. It also voids most PGT warranties when non-rated materials get mixed in. If you’re seeing any of the signs above, call us at (850) 780-8123. We’ll tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a quick fix or a bigger conversation, and the estimate is free either way.
FAQs

Most PGT-compatible shingles and tiles in Miami last 15 to 25 years depending on exposure, but fasteners, vent boots, and sealant lines often need attention in the 7 to 12 year range because of salt air and UV. Call (850) 780-8123 and Isaac can assess what’s worth fixing versus watching.
Most single-part failures can be repaired without replacing the surrounding roof, as long as the deck underneath is still sound and the adjacent material still has life in it. If the area around the failure is at the end of its lifespan, a sectional replacement is the smarter money. Call (850) 780-8123 for an honest read and a free estimate.
A single vent boot, ridge cap section, or flashing replacement typically takes two to four hours on site, and most Miami jobs are completed in one visit. If we find hidden deck damage, we’ll stop and show you before any additional work happens. Call (850) 780-8123 to schedule.
We carry the common PGT-compatible cap profiles, vent boots, and sealants on our Miami trucks, so most repairs are done same visit. Uncommon profiles or specific OEM finishes may need a one to three day order window, and we’ll tell you that up front. Call (850) 780-8123 with a photo and we’ll confirm what we have.
