IKO Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Mason Remodeling Co Miami stocks and installs IKO-compatible driveway and paver components for Miami homeowners, with typical installed pricing between $4,130 and $21,240 depending on the scope of the repair or replacement. Most paver and driveway part failures we see in Miami are discovered the same way: a paver shifts underfoot after heavy rain, a joint starts spreading sand, or a section of the driveway settles and puddles in a spot it never puddled before. If you’ve got an IKO paver surface showing age or damage, we can match the part, quote the job in writing, and get it handled without turning your front yard into a month-long construction zone.

A quick note before we go further: Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with IKO. We work with IKO-compatible materials and know their paver lines well enough to match what you already have.
Which IKO Models This Applies To

IKO manufactures paver and driveway products across several product lines, and the compatibility question matters more than most homeowners expect. The two big ones in Miami are IKO’s Cambridge paver line and their ArmorStone retaining wall blocks. Cambridge pavers come in three size categories that look nearly identical from a standing height but do not interlock across categories: the 60mm paver, the 80mm paver, and the 100mm paver. If you replace a 60mm paver with an 80mm from a different batch, the top surface sits proud of the neighbors and becomes a trip hazard within months. We measure every paver before we order a single replacement.
The fastest way to identify what you have: flip a loose paver and look for the molded logo on the underside, or check the original delivery receipt if you kept it. The logo tells us the series, and the thickness measurement tells us the spec. For aftermarket paver matches, we use Maytrx and Techo-Bloc equivalents where the color and dimension line up within IKO tolerances. In our experience, an OEM IKO paver and a quality aftermarket equivalent perform the same under Miami sun and rain, but color matching is the real risk. Aftermarket should be ordered from the same dye lot whenever possible – which we handle on your behalf.

Signs Your IKO Driveway & Pavers Are Failing
- Joint sand washing out after every rain. Miami’s afternoon downpours push water through the joints and carry the bedding sand with it. When sand disappears, pavers lose lateral support and start rocking. If you can see gaps widening between pavers, the base is eroding and the pattern will begin to shift.
- Pavers rocking or clicking underfoot. A paver that moves when you step on it has lost its bedding layer underneath. This usually starts at the driveway edge or near a downspout, where water concentrates. Left alone, the rocking spreads to adjacent pavers as the load shifts unevenly.
- Low spots or puddles that linger a day after rain. Miami’s flat terrain means drainage depends entirely on proper slope. When a section of the base settles, water pools, and the trapped moisture accelerates paver deterioration. We see this most often near curb cuts and where tree roots have pushed upward from below.
- Spalling or flaking on paver surfaces. Miami’s combination of intense UV exposure, salt air near the coast, and occasional standing water eats at the top layer of cheaper pavers. The surface flakes off in thin sheets, leaving a chalky, rough texture that holds dirt and looks permanently dirty.
- Edge pavers separating from the restraint. The plastic or concrete edge restraint keeps the whole field locked together. When edges start pulling away, the paver field loses tension and individual pavers begin migrating outward. This is the first sign of a cascade failure that gets expensive fast.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For IKO driveway and paver work in Miami, here’s what we quote, in writing, before any work starts:
- Paver driveway installation: $8,260 – $21,240
- Driveway replacement (tear-out and rebuild): $5,900 – $16,520
- Paver patio installation: $4,130 – $12,980
- Driveway sealing: $295 – $825
What drives the range? Three things, mostly: square footage, the condition of the existing base, and whether we can salvage any of the current pavers. A simple paver swap in a small area lands at the low end. A full tear-out with new base material, new edge restraint, and new pavers lands at the high end. Every quote includes parts, labor, haul-away of old material, and a written warranty. No change orders. No surprise line items. Isaac Pruett reads the job site and gives you a number that holds.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: identify whether pavers are rocking, look for sand loss in the joints, and check whether the edge restraint is still in place. These observations help us quote accurately over the phone. What you shouldn’t do is pull up pavers and start re-setting them. The base layer underneath is load-bearing, and without proper compaction, re-laid pavers will settle unevenly within weeks. Lifting heavy pavers also presents a real strain risk if you’re not used to the work – a standard 80mm paver weighs around 35 pounds, and you’ll move dozens of them. If the repair involves more than a few pavers, call us at (850) 780-8123 and let’s talk about the scope before you commit to anything.
FAQs

Properly installed IKO pavers typically last 25 to 40 years in South Florida, though surface color may fade somewhat after 10 to 15 years of direct Miami sun. The base underneath usually fails before the pavers themselves, which is why we spend as much time on compaction and drainage as we do on the pavers. Call us at (850) 780-8123 if your driveway is showing age before its time.
Yes, when the base is still solid, individual pavers can be pulled and replaced with a matching unit, typically for a few hundred dollars in labor and materials. The catch is color match, older pavers have years of UV fading, so new ones may not blend perfectly. We’ll be honest with you about whether a patch job will look acceptable or whether the whole surface needs attention.
A typical Miami paver driveway replacement takes 3 to 7 working days, depending on access, square footage, and whether we hit rain delays. Miami’s wet season means we schedule a day or two of buffer in August and September. We’ll give you a start date and a finish date in writing, and Isaac Pruett is known for finishing within the schedule he quoted.
We keep common IKO Cambridge paver sizes and colors on hand in our Miami shop, along with sand, edge restraint, and base material. Special-order colors or less common sizes may take 3 to 10 business days. We’ll tell you lead time before you commit to the quote. Call (850) 780-8123 for a free estimate, and we’ll check inventory while you’re on the phone.
Tell me what you need done. I’ll tell you what it costs and when it’s finished, and I’ll mean both.
