GAF Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
GAF fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 fully installed, and we stock the GAF-compatible components most owners need on the truck. You’ll know the fence has failed when a section pulls away from its post, the bottom rail rots through in less than five years, or a gate starts dragging across the concrete after a heavy rain. Most Miami homeowners call us after a storm pushes a section out of true, or after a termite inspection flags the posts. The fix usually takes one day, and we’ll give you the written price before we put a single shovel in the ground.

Which GAF Models This Applies To
GAF’s fence line runs across three main series: the Timberline Fence (their name for the residential wood-privacy line), the WeatherSide line (engineered composite pickets and rails), and the EverGuard line (vinyl and PVC-based systems built for coastal exposure). The compatibility gotcha most owners hit: GAF fence posts are not universal. Timberline posts are 4×4 nominal and accept a specific bracket spacing, while WeatherSide rails key into a slot-and-lock channel that looks similar to a big-box generic but is off by a half-inch. Bring us a photo of the rail profile and we can usually identify the exact series before we arrive. For OEM versus aftermarket, we default to OEM GAF parts when the fence is under 10 years old because the color match on WeatherSide drift-tolerant gray and the sun-baked tan finishes is nearly impossible to match with generics. On fences older than that, a quality aftermarket post kit or bottom rail often makes more financial sense, and we’ll tell you where the tradeoff is real before you spend a dollar.

Signs Your GAF Fence Installation Is Failing
- Posts leaning at the base. This is nearly always a rot or corrosion failure where the post meets the concrete or soil. In Miami, the water table sits high, and a post set in concrete without a gravel base will wick moisture for years until the wood turns soft. You’ll see the lean grow after every heavy rain.
- Bottom rail splitting or sagging. GAF bottom rails carry the weight of every picket, and in humid months the wood expands, then contracts in the dry season. Hairline cracks at the fastener line are the first sign, and they get worse fast once salt air works into the grain.
- Gate dragging or refusing to latch. The gate frame on GAF systems is the most stressed piece on the fence. Hinges pull free from the stile, the diagonal brace loosens, and the gate drops. You can usually see the gap at the top hinge before the gate fully fails.
- Pickets curling or detaching from the rail. On WeatherSide composite lines, this is often a fastener failure, not a material failure. The original nails back out under expansion and contraction cycles, and the picket walks off the rail. Tightening or replacing with proper coated screws fixes it before the picket cracks.
- White or gray streaking on vinyl sections. On EverGuard vinyl, this is usually surface oxidation from years of direct Miami sun and salt spray. It is cosmetic until the panels start to chalk and thin. We see it most on west-facing runs in Coconut Grove and Coral Gables.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
The installed cost for a GAF fence installation in Miami runs $4,130 on the low end for a smaller Timberline privacy run, up to $10,620 for a full perimeter replacement in WeatherSide composite or a long EverGuard vinyl line. What drives the range: total linear footage, whether we’re resetting posts or cutting new footers, gate hardware condition, and whether the existing concrete needs saw-cutting to remove old post anchors. Every quote includes parts, labor, haul-off of the failed sections, and the written price before work starts. No verbal estimate that grows on the final bill. Our craftsmanship warranty covers the installation for 365 days from completion. Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with GAF or its distributors.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things before calling: wiggle the posts, look for split rails, and photograph the bracket spacing so we can identify the series over the phone. What you should not do is dig out a leaning post and reset it yourself if the fence section is still attached. A wet post base in Miami soil can be supporting several hundred pounds of wind-loaded fence, and when the section springs back under tension, it can swing hard. We do not recommend homeowners cut rails, pull posts, or detach gate hinges on any GAF system with tension on the frame. If the section is small and the post is already loose, you can brace it with a 2×4 stake and call us. Otherwise, let a trained crew handle the removal. FAQs

A GAF fence installation in Miami should last 15 to 25 years on the WeatherSide composite and EverGuard vinyl lines, and 10 to 18 years on Timberline wood, with proper post bases and regular hardware inspection. Salt air and the high water table shorten the wood line faster than the composite lines. Call (850) 780-8123 to schedule your free estimate.
Yes, if the posts are still sound and the rails are intact, we can replace pickets, hardware, and the bottom rail section by section on most GAF fence lines. If two or more posts in the same run have rot at the base, a full replacement usually costs less than repairing in pieces. Call (850) 780-8123 for an exact quote.
Most GAF fence installations in Miami take one day for a standard residential section, and up to two days when old concrete footers need saw-cutting and dowel-pinning. We’ll give you the schedule in writing with the estimate, and Isaac Pruett has a habit of finishing within the schedule he quoted. Call (850) 780-8123 to schedule.
We stock GAF-compatible post anchors, bracket hardware, coated fasteners, and common bottom rail profiles on our trucks in Miami, so most repairs can be quoted and completed in a single visit. Special-order GAF rail profiles and color-matched pickets typically take 3 to 5 business days from our supplier. Call (850) 780-8123 to confirm what is on hand.
