Cover Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Bathroom remodeling in Miami typically runs $10,620 – $33,040 installed, depending on size, materials, and how much plumbing or electrical work the layout requires. If you own a home with a Cover-branded bathroom and something has failed, we match the replacement scope to your existing configuration and give you a written price before any work starts. Most Miami owners discover the problem the hard way: a vanity door no longer closes, grout has cracked along the shower floor, or water is pooling where it never used to.

We’ve been remodeling bathrooms in Miami since 2004, and we’ve seen every failure mode a South Florida bathroom can produce. Humidity is the quiet killer here. It gets behind grout, swells MDF vanity boxes, and rusts hardware that looked fine two years ago. Isaac Pruett, our owner, still walks Miami job sites himself. He’ll tell you the same thing he tells every homeowner: the sooner you catch it, the smaller the fix.
Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover manufactured complete bathroom packages for residential builds, typically sold through builder supply channels rather than retail showrooms. What that means for you: there’s no universal Cover parts catalog to order from, and your best path is matching what’s on site to current specification-grade equivalents. We see three common Cover bathroom configurations in Miami: a full tub-and-shower combo with fiberglass surround, a single-vanity layout with a drop-in sink, and a walk-in shower with either tile or a solid-surface pan.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most owners miss: Cover vanities were built at 31 inches tall, while most current off-the-shelf vanities sit at 34 – 36 inches. If you replace just the vanity, your plumbing stub-out height stays the same, and that’s fine. But if you’re replacing the countertop too, the faucet rough-in measurements shift. We measure everything before quoting so the number you get is the number you pay. For most Cover bathrooms, quality aftermarket equivalents from Kohler, Moen, and KraftMaid fit the existing footprint with minimal wall work. True OEM Cover parts are scarce, and honestly, they were never the strongest link. We’ll show you what’s failing and give you a straight recommendation.

Signs Your Cover Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing
- Soft spots on the vinyl floor around the toilet or tub. This means water has been sitting under the flooring long enough to rot the substrate. In Miami’s humidity, that rot spreads faster than you’d think, and it usually means the subfloor needs repair, not just new flooring on top.
- Vanity doors that won’t stay shut or drawers that drag. Cover used particleboard boxes with thermofoil faces. Once humidity gets into the particleboard, the hinges lose their bite and the boxes start to sag. You can tighten screws once or twice, but the material is done.
- Grout cracking along the shower floor corners. This is a movement crack. The shower pan flexes slightly with every step, and rigid grout can’t flex with it. It lets water behind the tile, and then you’re not just regrouting; you’re replacing tile and possibly the pan.
- Caulk pulling away from the tub-to-tile transition. In South Florida, houses shift with the seasons, even on slab. That gap is where shower water hits the wall every single day. If the caulk has separated, water is already getting through.
- Rust staining around the drain or faucet bases. Cover often spec’d builder-grade metal finishes. Once the plating wears thin near water, the base metal underneath starts to rust. It looks cosmetic, but it’s usually a sign the fixture has been failing for a while.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Miami, a full bathroom remodel including demo, new fixtures, tile or surround, vanity, flooring, and finish work runs $10,620 – $33,040. A small bathroom remodel, which covers a standard 5×8-foot layout with a tub-shower combo and a single vanity, lands between $5,900 and $14,160. A walk-in shower installation alone runs $5,310 – $14,160. If you only need a vanity installed, that’s $945 – $3,540.

What drives the range is straightforward: plumbing relocation costs more than keeping pipes where they are, tile costs more than a fiberglass surround, and waterproofing a second-story bathroom in Miami requires more care than a ground-floor slab. Every quote includes demolition, haul-away, materials, labor, and a written line-item breakdown. You know what you’re paying before the first tool comes out. The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things you can safely do yourself. You can tighten a loose vanity hinge. You can recaulk a tub edge if you remove the old caulk completely first. You can replace a showerhead or a faucet aerator. What you shouldn’t do yourself is anything involving the shower pan, subfloor, or drain plumbing. Once water has been getting where it shouldn’t, the damage is always worse than it looks from the surface. We’ve torn out Miami bathrooms where the tile looked fine but the subfloor crumbled like wet cardboard.
That’s the honest split. If you’re seeing soft floors, cracked shower grout, or rust, you’re past the point of a weekend fix. Call us at (850) 780-8123. We’ll send someone to look, and you’ll get a written price before anything moves forward.
FAQs

With proper waterproofing and quality materials, a remodeled bathroom in Miami should last 20 – 30 years before needing major work. The two things that shorten that lifespan here are inadequate waterproofing and cheap particleboard vanities. We build with Florida’s humidity in mind, not against it.
Yes, if the failure is isolated. A single cracked tile, a failing vanity, or a worn faucet can be replaced without gutting the room. But if water has been getting through, we’ll need to open the area to see how far it traveled before we can give you an honest answer. The estimate is free either way. Call (850) 780-8123.
A standard full bathroom remodel takes 2 – 4 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. A smaller job, like a vanity replacement or shower swap, is typically done in 3 – 6 working days. We lock the schedule at quote time, and Isaac means the date he gives you.
We don’t stock Cover-specific parts because Cover is no longer manufacturing them. What we do stock, on the truck and in our Miami warehouse, are specification-grade equivalents from Kohler, Moen, KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone that fit Cover footprints with minimal modification. We bring most replacement materials with us on the first visit, so work isn’t waiting on a supply order.
