Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Caesarstone surfaces in a home addition or ADU project in Miami typically run $53,100 to $153,400 when installed as part of a full build, with countertop installation alone ranging from $2,360 to $7,670. Most owners call us when a Caesarstone slab shows edge chipping, seam separation, or dulling that no amount of polishing restores. We stock fabrication-compatible Caesarstone materials and can match existing slabs for additions that need to blend with your current kitchen or bath.

What we see most in Miami: a homeowner starts an ADU or addition, gets halfway through, and realizes the Caesarstone they specced doesn’t match the main house, or the fabricator cut a seam that’s already failing in our humidity. Isaac Pruett has torn out enough bad seams in Coconut Grove and Kendall to know the difference between a slab that can be saved and one that needs replacement before the cabinets get set.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone runs several distinct product lines, and they are not interchangeable. The Classico series (colors like Frosty Carrina, London Grey, Calcutta Nuvo) uses a standard 3cm thickness. The Supernatural and Ultra lines run a higher quartz content and different edge profiles. The Outdoors line is UV-stable and spec’d differently for Miami’s sun exposure on an ADU patio kitchen.
Here’s the compatibility gotcha most Miami owners miss: Caesarstone changed its slab dimensions and edge treatments across series, so a remnant from a 2019 Classico kitchen will not seamlessly match a 2025 Supernatural slab, even if the color name is similar. Check the underside of your existing slab for the engraved series code before you buy anything. If the code’s worn off, measure the thickness, because 2cm and 3cm slabs need different cabinet underlayment and edge profiles.
When it comes to OEM versus aftermarket, for Caesarstone specifically we recommend OEM slabs for any visible surface in a home addition. Aftermarket quartz can be fine for a laundry room or ADU kitchenette, but color consistency and resin quality vary. We’re an independent Miami contractor, not a Caesarstone dealer, so we’ll tell you straight when an aftermarket slab makes sense and when it doesn’t.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Seam separation at the joint. Miami’s humidity cycles expand and contract the substrate under the slab. If your seam was cut too tight or set with the wrong adhesive, it opens up and traps water, which leads to staining underneath.
- Edge chipping along the overhang. Most often this is a fabrication issue, not a material defect. A dull router bit or rushed edge polish leaves micro-fractures that chip within the first year.
- Dulling or hazing that polishing won’t fix. Caesarstone is non-porous, but harsh acidic cleaners eat the resin binder over time. Once the resin is compromised, the surface loses its gloss permanently.
- Water marks that don’t dry. If a section near the sink stays dark after drying, the slab has lost its seal at that spot, often from heat damage or a failed seam nearby.
- Cracks radiating from a cutout. Improper support around a sink or cooktop cutout concentrates stress. We see this most often on ADU kitchenettes where cabinets were set without enough cross-support.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Caesarstone countertop replacement within a Miami home addition or ADU, installed pricing runs $2,360 to $7,670 depending on slab size, edge profile, and whether we’re matching an existing surface. Full addition builds with Caesarstone throughout run $53,100 to $153,400, and a standalone ADU with Caesarstone kitchen and bath surfaces lands between $106,200 and $259,600.
Every project gets a written price before work starts. That number includes slab material, fabrication, delivery, installation, sink and cooktop cutouts, edge finishing, and haul-away of the old surface. No change orders, no surprise line items at the end. We deliver the written quote, you sign it, and that’s the number we honor.
We also carry compatible materials for KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria, and Silestone if your addition mixes brands across rooms.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely do one thing: check the underside of your slab for the series code and measure the thickness. Write those numbers down before you call anyone. That’s the limit of safe DIY here.
Caesarstone slabs weigh roughly 18 to 20 pounds per square foot. A standard 9-foot kitchen island top can exceed 500 pounds. Moving, cutting, and setting a slab requires a certified fabrication saw, diamond tooling, and at least two experienced installers. A slab that drops on a Miami tile floor takes the cabinets, the floor, and somebody’s foot with it. If a seam needs repair on an existing installation, call us. The adhesive systems and color-matching repair kits are not sold at big-box stores, and a botched repair makes the eventual replacement more expensive.
Tell me what you need done. I’ll tell you what it costs and when it’s finished, and I’ll mean both. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll come look at your slab, match the series, and give you a written number.
FAQs

A properly fabricated and installed Caesarstone slab should last 20 to 25 years in Miami’s climate, but the weak point is always the seam and edge work, not the material itself. Poor fabrication fails in 3 to 5 years. That’s why we spec our own fabricators and inspect every cut before the slab leaves the shop. Call (850) 780-8123 if your seams are opening up.
Small edge chips and minor seam gaps can be repaired with color-matched epoxy and re-polishing, and we do that regularly. Cracks through the full thickness of the slab, especially around sink cutouts, cannot be safely repaired. Call (850) 780-8123 for an honest assessment, free.
A standard kitchen or ADU countertop replacement in Miami takes 5 to 10 business days from signed quote to finished install. That includes template measurement, fabrication, and a half-day to a full day for installation. We’ll give you the exact schedule in writing when we quote the job.
We order per project to match your exact color and series code, because stocking slabs that won’t match an existing kitchen wastes your money and ours. What we do keep in stock are the installation materials: adhesives, seam kits, support brackets, and edge guards. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll check current availability from the Miami Caesarstone distribution yards.
