Belgard Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide

Belgard bathroom remodeling in Miami typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 for a full install, and yes, we stock Belgard-compatible materials for that work. Most homeowners call us after a Belgard paver or wall block application near a bathroom has shifted, cracked, or started letting water through, usually around a shower curb, a garden tub surround, or an indoor-outdoor bath transition. You’ll notice it as a loose paver underfoot, a dark stain spreading from the joint, or efflorescence (that white crust) blooming across the Belgard surface.

We’re an independent service provider, not a Belgard dealer or affiliate. What that means for you: we match the product, price it plainly, and install it without pushing a brand line. If Belgard is what you have, Belgard is what we’ll work with.

Which Belgard Models This Applies To

Belgard’s bathroom-adjacent work in South Florida usually involves two product families: the Urbana porcelain paver line and the Catalina or Quarry series concrete pavers used in wet-area flooring and shower surrounds. Urbana runs 2 cm thick with rectified edges, meaning the sides are cut square so joints can be as tight as 1/16 inch. Catalina and Quarry run 60 mm to 80 mm thick and are not rectified, so they need wider joints and a different setting bed.

The compatibility gotcha: you cannot mix those two. A 2 cm Urbana paver set in a mortar bed will fail if someone swaps in a 60 mm Quarry unit mid-repair. The heights don’t line up, the drainage plane breaks, and you get a lip that catches toes and water. If you’re matching an existing Belgard install, measure the paver thickness before you buy anything. Check the underside for the Belgard stamp; Urbana also carries a porcelain code on the box.

For OEM versus aftermarket: Belgard pavers are proprietary color blends. An aftermarket paver from a Miami landscape yard might be “close” in the showroom and obviously wrong in your bathroom’s daylight. For a visible wet-area surface, stick with OEM Belgard where possible. For hidden setting materials (sand, mortar, edge restraint), aftermarket equivalents are fine if they meet the paver manufacturer’s spec.

Signs Your Belgard Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Hollow-sounding pavers when you tap them. This means the setting bed has eroded or a mortar bond has let go. Water is pooling underneath instead of draining. In Miami, our humidity makes this worse because the sub-surface never fully dries.
  • Hairline cracks running through adjacent pavers in a line. This is usually a slab movement issue underneath, not a product defect. Belgard pavers rarely crack on their own; they crack when the foundation beneath them shifts, which Miami’s sandy, settling soils will do over time.
  • White chalky deposits blooming across the surface. Efflorescence means water is wicking up through the paver and carrying salts with it. You can clean it, but it comes back until you fix the drainage path under the surface.
  • Joint sand washing out around the shower or tub base. If you sweep or vacuum sand every week, the joints are telling you water moves through them with force. That means the slope isn’t carrying water away fast enough.
  • A musty smell that won’t clear even after drying the room out. Water has found its way into the setting bed or the wall cavity behind the Belgard surface. That’s a sign to stop using the area until someone opens it up.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A full Belgard bathroom remodel in Miami runs $10,620 to $33,040. A smaller Belgard wet-area repair, like a shower floor redo or a tub surround rebuild, lands between $5,900 and $14,160. The spread depends on square footage, whether we’re pulling up and resetting an existing base or pouring new mortar, and whether wall work or plumbing moves are part of the job.

Every Mason Remodeling Co Miami quote is a written price, not a verbal range. You’ll see the paver cost, the setting materials, the labor, and the disposal line-by-line before any work starts. If a number changes, that only happens with a written change order you approve first. The work itself is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if it’s not right within one year of the completion date, we make it right at no cost to you.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check a few things before anyone arrives: tap the pavers to find hollow spots, mark where efflorescence appears, note whether the floor has any visible slope toward a drain. That information helps us quote faster.

What you shouldn’t do is pull up Belgard pavers in a bathroom yourself. Once you break the surface, you’ve exposed whatever is underneath, and in a bathroom that’s usually a waterproofing membrane. Cut it wrong, and you’ve turned a $1,000 reset into a $6,000 water-damage repair. If the surface is wet, cracked, or hollow, call us at (850) 780-8123. Isaac Pruett reads these jobs quickly and will tell you straight what you’re looking at.
