Ameristar Construction in Miami, FL | Mason Remodeling Co Miami

We provide independent Ameristar service across Miami, from rooftop condenser replacements on aging shore condos to air handler swaps in pre-1992 concrete-block homes. The one thing that makes our Ameristar work here different is we know exactly what salt air, hurricane codes, and Miami-Dade’s 40-year recertification deadlines do to each Ameristar model, because we have been pulling failed units off Miami roofs for over a decade. Call (850) 780-8123 for a straight answer on your Ameristar equipment.

We’re an independent Ameristar service provider, not a manufacturer affiliate or authorized dealer. That matters. It means we tell you what’s actually wrong and what it costs to fix, not what a corporate warranty program wants us to sell. Isaac Pruett, our owner, started swinging a framing hammer in Los Angeles before he could legally drive, earned his construction trade certificate from LA Trade-Technical College, and spent years working every phase of residential builds before relocating to South Florida to lead our General Contractor in Miami team. He reads a job site fast and gives homeowners a straight number with no padding.

Why Miami Residents Choose Us for Ameristar Service

An open living space after a whole-home remodel

We have worked on hundreds of Miami homes where Ameristar HVAC equipment sits right up against coastal construction challenges. Rooftop condensers on 1970s shore condos. Indoor air handlers crammed into Art Deco utility closets. Post-Surfside recertification deadlines that demand immediate compliance. Miami is a different animal than inland Florida, and Ameristar units here fail in ways you won’t see in Orlando or Tampa.

Our crews understand the model lines by heart. Ameristar M4AC3 air conditioners, M4HP3 heat pumps, M4AH4 air handlers, M801P gas furnaces. We know which ones develop coil corrosion within three to five years of salt spray, which ones ice up during Miami’s brutal August humidity, and which ones are worth saving versus replacing. When you call us about your Ameristar equipment, you’re talking to someone who has already seen your exact problem on a similar Miami building. For a broader look at how we serve the region, see our Miami service area page.

We operate under the Threshold Standard. Every crew member is background-checked and identity-verified. You get a name and photo before we arrive, and a photo ID badge at your door. A written price comes before any work starts, on every job, no exceptions. That’s how we’ve done it since 2004 as part of the Threshold Group family.

Common Ameristar Construction Problems We Solve in Miami

  • Coastal condenser corrosion. Salt spray eats through Ameristar condenser coils and cabinet seams on rooftop units within three to five years here. We regularly find M4AC3 units in Brickell and Edgewater with coil fins that crumble to the touch. The fix is either a coated-coil replacement or a full swap, depending on compressor age.
  • Wind-driven rain shorts. High-velocity rain from tropical systems gets past Ameristar condenser louver spacing, shorting control boards and pitting compressor contactors. After any serious storm season, we see a run of these exact failures across Miami-Dade.
  • Frozen evaporator coils on oversized systems. In pre-1992 Miami condos, oversized Ameristar systems on old ductwork freeze up during peak humidity season. Cracked drain pans follow. We see this constantly in Brickell high-rises and older Kendall townhomes where units were upsized without duct upgrades.
  • Floodwater immersion damage. Low-lying Miami neighborhoods put M4AC3 units on concrete slabs at grade. Storm surge or even heavy street flooding immerses the outdoor unit and destroys the contactor and capacitor. We’ve replaced flooded Ameristar electricals in Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay after every major storm.
  • Rooftop stand non-compliance. Miami-Dade requires hurricane-rated stands for rooftop condensers, and many older buildings still have rusted steel or rotting plywood platforms. We replace the stand and the unit, then reseal roof penetrations so the recertification passes.

Ameristar Service in Miami: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

Miami-Dade County is the only county in Florida that requires HVAC condenser units on rooftops to be mounted on hurricane-rated stands that can withstand 175 mph wind gusts, a rule written after Hurricane Andrew. That changes everything about Ameristar installation and service access here. On a normal inland job, a rooftop condenser sits on a simple curb or pad. In Miami, the stand itself is a structural component with wind-load engineering behind it. When the stand fails, the recertification fails. When the stand is old steel or rotting wood, the Ameristar unit riding on it is a liability even if the compressor still runs fine.

We saw this on a 1968 condo tower on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. The building’s 40-year recertification inspection flagged rusted Ameristar M4AC3 rooftop condensers. The base pans had corroded through from decades of salt air, and the original plywood stands were no longer compliant with Miami-Dade’s 175 mph wind-load rule. We replaced the stands with galvanized steel hurricane-rated mounts, swapped in new M4AC3 units with coated coils, and resealed the roof penetrations as part of our Bathroom Remodeling - Miami and full-service renovation work. The recertification passed the following week. That’s the kind of work that only makes sense in Miami.

Ameristar Models & Products We Service in Miami

We service the full Ameristar residential line: M4AC3 air conditioners, M4HP3 heat pumps, M4AH4 air handlers, and M801P gas furnaces. For warranty-eligible repairs and critical components like compressors, we use OEM Ameristar parts. When OEM lead times stretch past a storm season, we’ll install quality aftermarket capacitors, contactors, and fan motors so you’re not sweating through August waiting on a backorder.

We’re blunt about repair versus replacement. If a coastal Ameristar condenser is already corroded through the coil fins and the compressor is over eight years old, we recommend replacement with a corrosion-resistant model rather than a costly patch that will fail again in two seasons.
