Ameristar Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Ameristar fence installation in Miami typically runs $4130 to $10620 for a standard residential job, including new posts, rails, pickets, and gate hardware. We stock Ameristar-compatible panels, posts, and gate kits on our trucks, so most installations start same day. Homeowners usually discover they need us when a gate drags on the concrete after a storm, a post leans after heavy rain softened the soil, or a section of fence cracked from salt air and sun exposure.

Which Ameristar Models This Applies To

Ameristar builds three distinct fence lines that show up throughout Miami: the Echelon ornamental steel series, the Impasse welded aluminum panels, and the Canyon (formerly Sentinel) residential steel. Each line uses its own post dimensions, rail channel widths, and bracket spacing. The Echelon posts are typically 2.5-inch square steel with press-fit caps, while Impasse uses 2-inch square aluminum with internal rail brackets you cannot see from the outside.
Here is the compatibility gotcha we run into constantly: Ameristar changed its post-to-rail bracket design between the 2018 and 2021 manufacturing runs on Echelon models. If your fence was installed before 2021 and one panel got damaged, a new panel does not always seat into older brackets without an adapter plate. We keep both bracket generations on hand. When you call, read the serial tag on the inside of a post cap; it tells us the exact series and production date. OEM panels are still the best match for color and powder-coat finish, but quality aftermarket steel from Miami suppliers like Alro Steel and Eastern Metal Supply in Medley meets ASTM A653 specs and costs about 18 percent less.

Signs Your Ameristar Fence Installation Is Failing
- Gate sagging or dragging on the driveway. The hinge bolts on Ameristar gates work loose over time, and the welded frame holds a surprising amount of weight. In Coconut Grove, where we see older coral rock paths, the gate edge catches and the top hinge bends first.
- Rust bleeding from post bases. Miami’s salt air and standing water after afternoon thunderstorms eat through the powder coat at the weld points. Once you see orange streaking from the post bottom, the internal steel is already compromised.
- Loose pickets that rattle in the wind. The press-in rail channels on Ameristar residential lines hold pickets with a spring clip. After a few hurricane seasons, those clips fatigue and pickets start working their way out.
- Leaning posts after heavy rain. Post concrete that was poured too shallow or in sandy, fast-draining soil near the coast shifts when the ground gets saturated. This is the most common failure we see in Coral Terrace and Westchester subdivisions.
- Gate latch that no longer catches. The striker plate alignment drifts as the gate frame flexes. You can adjust it once or twice, but eventually the frame needs to be re-squared and re-welded at the corner joints.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Installed Ameristar fence work in Miami falls into a predictable range. A single gate rebuild with new hinges, latch, and powder-coated panel runs $470 to $2125. A full standard residential install, including teardown of an old fence, new posts set in 2500 PSI concrete, panels, and two gates, lands between $4130 and $10620. The spread comes from linear footage, soil conditions (sandy coastal soil means deeper post holes), and whether we are matching an existing finish or starting fresh. Every estimate is a written price before work begins. That number includes all parts, labor, concrete, haul-away, and a 365-day workmanship warranty. Isaac Pruett prices the job once and holds to it. No change orders. No surprise line items on the final invoice.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely reset a leaning gate yourself if the hinges are just loose. Tighten the bolts, check the latch alignment, and keep an eye on it. But anything involving post removal, concrete footings, or cutting steel rails is where DIY gets expensive fast. An angled grinder to the wrong rail throws off the entire panel alignment and voids whatever is left of the manufacturer’s finish warranty. And setting posts in Miami soil is not a weekend job; it is digging through muck, fighting roots, and pouring enough concrete to hold a panel upright in 60 mph wind. If you want the existing fence matched exactly, we have the original spec sheets and the right brackets. Call (850) 780-8123 and we will tell you what it costs.
FAQs

Ameristar steel fences with the standard powder-coat finish typically last 15 to 20 years in Miami’s salt air and humidity, but the gate hardware gives out first, usually between year 7 and year 10. Aluminum fence lines hold up longer against corrosion but dent more easily. Call (850) 780-8123 for an exact assessment of your fence’s remaining life and a free estimate on replacement.
Yes, in most cases. We rebuild gates, replace pickets, re-set posts, and weld cracked rail joints on-site. Full replacement only makes sense when the rust has spread through multiple posts or the panel alignment is off by more than two inches.
Most Miami residential Ameristar fence installations take two to three working days. Tear-out and post-setting happen on day one, panels and gate hang on day two, and any final grading and hardware adjustments wrap on day three.
We stock Ameristar-compatible panels, posts, post caps, hinges, latches, and bracket adapters on our service trucks. For unusual custom orders or large replacement runs, we source directly from Miami distributors with a two-to-three-day lead time. We also stock parts for KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone surfaces, though fence work is the main event.
