Construction Before & After in Miami, FL
Photos tell the truth faster than any sales pitch. When you’re choosing a contractor for a bathroom remodel or whole-home renovation in Miami, you want to see what happens when a wall comes down, when 60-year-old plumbing gets exposed, and when a crew has to solve problems that weren’t in the original plan. That’s the work we’ve done since 2004. These are real project scenarios we handle across Miami, from Coconut Grove bungalows to Kendall ranch houses. The before photos aren’t pretty. That’s the point.

Bathroom Remodel in a 1950s Coral Gables Ranch
Before
AfterThe problem: The original bathroom had a cast-iron tub that weighed roughly 400 pounds and a window placed directly inside the shower. Every so often, water found its way into the wall cavity behind the tile. The homeowner had four separate patch jobs done before calling us.
What we did: We gutted the room to the studs, found the rot, replaced the framing, and rebuilt the shower as a curbless walk-in with a linear drain. We used a Schluter strip – the metal trim that seals the edge where tile meets flooring – so the transition from shower floor to bathroom tile is flush and waterproof. New Kohler fixtures, a floating oak vanity, and a recessed medicine cabinet.
The result: A bathroom that reads like a page from a current design magazine, with plumbing that’ll outlast the tile. The homeowner’s exact words: “I didn’t know a bathroom could feel this big.”
Whole-Home Remodel in Shenandoah After a Water Heater Failure
Before
AfterThe problem: A 40-gallon water heater in the garage let go while the homeowners were out of town for a long weekend. By the time they returned, water had traveled under the wall into the kitchen, the dining room, and the hallway. The insurance adjuster’s first question was whether they had a contractor they trusted.
What we did: We pulled the affected drywall, replaced the subfloor where the oak had buckled, and rebuilt the kitchen from the studs out. New KraftMaid cabinets, Caesarstone counters, and a tile backsplash that runs to the ceiling. The flooring throughout the first floor was replaced with a single continuous product so there’s no transition bump between rooms.
The result: What started as an insurance claim became a full first-floor renovation. The homeowners got a written price before any work started, which their adjuster needed anyway, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise meant they didn’t have to wonder what happened if something failed a few months later.
Bathroom Remodel in Coconut Grove with Floor Plan Issues
Before
AfterThe problem: A second-floor bathroom in Coconut Grove had a layout problem: the toilet sat directly in the sightline from the master bedroom door. Anyone lying in bed could see it. The room was also only 5 feet by 7 feet, so moving fixtures meant working within inches.
What we did: We swapped the swing door for a pocket door, which freed enough wall space to rotate the toilet 90 degrees. We installed a wall-hung Toto toilet to save floor space, then built a custom vanity where the old pedestal sink stood. The Schluter membrane under the tile means the floor is waterproof from corner to corner, not just in the shower pan.
The result: The sightline problem is gone. The bathroom is the same footprint but feels a foot wider. The homeowner now leaves the pocket door open just to show it off when guests visit.
Kitchen and Bath Refresh in Kendall Before a Listing

The problem: The owners of a Kendall house were planning to list in the spring and knew the kitchen would drag down offers. The laminate counters were chipped at the edges. The bathroom still had the original fiberglass tub surround from 1993. They didn’t want a gut remodel; they wanted maximum return without maximum disruption.
What we did: We replaced the counters with Silestone quartz, swapped the fluorescent box for recessed LEDs, and put in a Moen faucet and a new stainless undermount sink. In the bathroom, we pulled the fiberglass surround, installed a new tub with tile to the ceiling, and replaced the vanity with a Wellborn cabinet. Total timeline: nine working days.
The result: The house sold 22 days after listing. The listing agent told us the kitchen photos drove most of the showings. Total project cost was under what the owners expected to recoup at closing.
Home Remodel in Miami Shores with Termite Repair

The problem: What started as a kitchen remodel in Miami Shores turned into a structural project. Once we opened the floor, we found termite damage in the sill plate and three joists. The kitchen floor had a half-inch sag nobody noticed because the old linoleum flexed over the top.
What we did: We stopped and called the homeowner before touching anything else. We provided a written price for the additional structural work before any demolition continued, which is how every Mason Remodeling project runs. We replaced the damaged joists, sistered the surrounding ones, and installed a new sill plate. Then we rebuilt the kitchen as originally planned: Wellborn cabinets, a Cambria waterfall island, and a real vent hood instead of the recirculating one that had vented into the attic for decades.
The result: The floor is dead level. The kitchen works. And the homeowner knows the bones of the house are solid, not just the surface.
Bathroom Remodel in Little Havana with Rot Behind Tile

The problem: In Little Havana, a homeowner noticed a few tiles in the shower felt soft. When we arrived, we found the reason: the original installer had set tile directly on drywall, not on a waterproof backer. The drywall had been soaking up shower water for years. The tile wasn’t stuck to anything anymore; it was just holding itself up by grout.
What we did: We removed the entire shower, replaced the drywall with cement board, and installed a full Schluter waterproofing system – membrane, corners, drain assembly, everything – before a single tile went up. New Grohe fixtures and a bench seat the homeowner had always wanted.
The result: The shower is waterproof in a way the original never was. The homeowner told us she’d lived in the house for 11 years and never realized the shower was slowly failing behind the wall. That’s the kind of thing you only discover when the tile comes off.
