Boxabl Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide

Boxabl bathroom remodeling in Miami typically runs $10,620 to $33,040 installed, depending on how much of the original module bath you’re replacing and whether water damage has spread beyond the wet zone. We stock Boxabl-compatible fixtures, panels, and plumbing on our trucks, and we can usually start within days, not weeks. Most owners don’t discover they need this until a soft spot appears under the shower pan or the sink cabinet starts pulling away from the wall. The compact Boxabl bathroom packs plumbing, waterproofing, and cabinetry into a tight footprint, which means one failed part often takes neighbors with it.

Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Boxabl. We’ve worked on enough Boxabl units in Miami to know where they hold up and where the Florida humidity gets them first.

Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

Boxabl’s Casita is the model we see most in Miami, and its bathroom module is consistent across production runs from roughly 2021 onward. The main compatibility gotcha: early Casita units used a 32-inch shower enclosure with a proprietary drain placement set 14 inches off the rear wall. Later units moved that drain to 16 inches and switched to a standard 32-by-32 pan. If you’re ordering parts yourself, measure the drain center before you buy anything.

OEM Boxabl bathroom components are fine, but they’re not always the smartest buy. The factory vanity top is a thin cultured marble product that chips at the edges within a couple of years of daily use. For replacements, we usually recommend a solid-surface top cut to the same dimensions which fits the stock cabinet but outlasts the original by a decade or more. The same goes for the stock shower valve: it’s a basic pressure-balanced unit. When it fails, a Moen or Kohler valve drops into the same wall opening. We work directly with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for owners who want a full upgrade rather than a like-for-like swap.

Signs Your Boxabl Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Soft flooring around the toilet flange. The Boxabl bath uses a vinyl floor over a composite subfloor. The wax ring seal is the weakest point, and in Miami’s humidity, a slow leak at the flange rots the subfloor from underneath before you ever see standing water.
  • Shower wall panels lifting at the seams. Boxabl shower surrounds are laminated panels joined with silicone. Florida heat cycles expand and contract those panels daily. After a few years, the silicone separates, water gets behind the panels, and the smell never quite goes away.
  • Vanity cabinet doors that won’t close square. The stock vanity is particleboard with a laminate skin. In South Florida humidity, the sides swell, the hinges pull, and the doors start to drift. By the time you notice, the cabinet box is typically doing the swelling, not just the doors.
  • Rust stains bleeding through the shower floor. Some Boxabl drain assemblies used a steel collar under the strainer. When the enamel on that collar fails, rust bleeds through the sealant and into the pan. It’s cosmetic at first, but the collar keeps corroding.
  • Popping or creaking when you step near the toilet or shower curb. That’s the subfloor delaminating from the joist above. The adhesive holding the layers together breaks down from moisture. It won’t get better on its own.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

The full Boxabl bathroom remodel in Miami runs $10,620 to $33,040. A partial replacement like just the shower enclosure or just the vanity runs on the lower end of our small bathroom remodel range, which is $5,900 to $14,160. The difference comes down to three things: how much water damage is hiding behind the panels, whether you want like-for-like parts or upgraded fixtures, and whether the floor structure needs reinforcing before new finishes go in.

Every estimate is a written line-item price. You’ll see the parts cost, the labor, and the disposal fee as separate numbers before you sign anything. We don’t do verbal estimates that grow. Our 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed work for one full year from the completion date. If the shower leaks or a cabinet door sags within that year, we return and fix it at no charge. No dispute process, no conditions.

DIY or Call Us?

Some things you can check safely. Turn off the water at the unit’s main shutoff and inspect the shower valve trim for mineral buildup. Look at the caulk lines around the shower pan and toilet base. If the caulk is cracked and you catch it early, re-caulking is a Saturday job that costs about $20 in materials.

But once the subfloor is soft or the wall panels have separated, DIY goes wrong fast. The Boxabl bathroom is a tight modular space with plumbing and wiring running through narrow wall cavities. One wrong cut into the wrong panel creates a problem that costs more to fix than your original issue. Call us at (850) 780-8123. Isaac Pruett will come out, read the site, and give you a straight number.

“Tell me what you need done. I’ll tell you what it costs and when it’s finished, and I’ll mean both.”
