Cover Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If your Cover driveway or paver section has cracked, shifted, or started sinking, we stock and install Cover-compatible pavers and can typically have the damaged area replaced within a few days of your call. In Miami, expect to pay between $4,130 and $21,240 for a full paver driveway installation depending on square footage, substrate condition, and whether we’re reusing existing base material. You’ll know it’s time when you see pooling water that wasn’t there before, pavers that rock underfoot, or gaps between pavers wider than a quarter inch.

We are an independent contractor, not affiliated with Cover, but we work with the same Belgard, Unilock, and Techo-Bloc pavers that Cover specifications call for. That means you’re not locked into a single source for replacement material.
Which Cover Models This Applies To

Cover pavers aren’t a proprietary shape, which is good news. Cover uses standard 60mm and 80mm paver systems from major manufacturers, and the pattern is what makes it look like a Cover installation, not the paver itself. Most Miami Cover driveways are either a running bond or herringbone pattern over a compacted aggregate base. When we match pavers, we check three things: paver thickness (60mm for pedestrian areas, 80mm for anything taking vehicle weight), joint width (standard is 1/8 inch), and color blend lot. The color blend is the gotcha most people miss. Pavers from the same manufacturer but different production lots can be visibly off, which is why we always order from one lot when replacing a section, and why we ask for photos of the existing driveway before we quote.
For the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: with pavers, OEM means Belgrad, Unilock, or Techo-Bloc product direct from the manufacturer. Aftermarket or generic pavers from a big-box store will be thinner, softer, and will fade faster under South Florida sun. We stock Belgrad and Techo-Bloc 80mm driveway pavers on our trucks for common colors. If your color is less common, we order it and it’s typically in our hands within three business days.

Signs Your Cover Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Sinking or low spots. This is almost always a base failure underneath, not the paver itself. Miami’s sandy soil shifts, and if the original install skimped on aggregate depth, you’ll see birdbaths form after rain.
- Rocking pavers. A paver that tips when you step on it means the bedding sand has washed out or compacted unevenly. Left alone, edges chip and the problem spreads to neighbors.
- Widening joints. When the sand between pavers erodes, pavers drift. Joint sand needs to be topped off and, in some cases, stabilized with a polymeric product that resists Miami’s rain.
- Heaving or buckling. Tree roots from oaks and ficus common in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove push pavers up from below. This needs root pruning and re-leveling, not just paver replacement.
- Mold or mildew staining. Miami humidity grows mildew on unsealed pavers quickly. A proper clean and seal, reapplied every three years, keeps the driveway looking like the day it was installed.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Installed paver driveway pricing in Miami runs from $4,130 for a compact single-car driveway replacement to $21,240 for a two-car driveway with new base, edging, and pattern work. If you’re replacing just a section, most jobs fall between $1,200 and $3,800 depending on how much base repair is needed. The base is what usually drives the price, not the pavers themselves.
Every quote is a written, line-item price before work starts. That means you see paver cost, material delivery, base prep, labor, and haul-away as separate numbers. No change orders because we saw something after the fact. Work is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something shifts or fails within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect the damage yourself: walk the driveway, mark low spots with chalk, and check if pavers rock under your foot. You can also clean the surface with a pressure washer on low. What we don’t recommend is pulling up pavers yourself if you don’t know what’s underneath. Pavers lock together under pressure, and once you break that lock on a 60mm or 80mm system, you’ll fight the pattern to get it back. FAQs

A properly installed 80mm paver driveway with a compacted aggregate base will last 25 to 30 years in Miami, with joint sand topping and sealing every three to five years. The pavers themselves don’t wear out; what fails first is the base and edge restraint. Call (850) 780-8123 if you’re seeing shifting or sinking – free estimates.
Yes, a single cracked paver can be pulled and replaced in under an hour for most patterns, and we stock common 80mm colors on the truck. If multiple pavers in one area are cracking, the problem is usually base movement underneath, not the pavers. Call us for a quick look – the estimate is free.
A single-car driveway replacement typically takes two to three days in Miami, including demo, base work, paver install, and joint sand. A section repair is usually one day. We’ll tell you the exact schedule in your written estimate.
We stock Belgrad and Techo-Bloc pavers in the 60mm and 80mm thicknesses that Cover driveway specifications call for, including common colors in Miami. If your color isn’t on hand, we order it and it typically arrives within three business days. We also carry companion products from KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone for interior projects.
