Abodu Bathroom Remodeling: The Miami Owner’s Guide

If you own an Abodu home in Miami and the bathroom is starting to fail, a full remodel typically runs $10,620 – $33,040 installed, depending on whether we’re replacing a failing shower pan, swapping a vanity that’s swollen from humidity, or gutting the whole room to the studs. Most Abodu bathroom remodels in Miami take 5 – 10 working days once materials land in our shop. The way homeowners usually find us: a soft spot in the floor outside the shower, a vanity door that won’t close because the MDF has absorbed three hurricane seasons of moisture, or grout that’s cracked and letting water behind the tile where you can’t see it until the baseboard turns dark.

Which Abodu Models This Applies To

We work on every Abodu floor plan we’ve seen in Miami-Dade: the studio units with the single wet wall, the one-bedroom layouts with the compact three-piece bath, and the two-bedroom models where the primary bath shares a wall with the kitchen plumbing. The compatibility question that matters most is what kind of substrate Abodu used behind your tile and around your shower. Some Abodu units came with fiberglass shower enclosures built off-site; others have site-built tile showers with a PVC liner. You can tell which you have by tapping the shower wall: a hollow, plastic ring means fiberglass; a dull, solid thud means tile over backer board. Fiberglass enclosures can’t be spot-repaired well if the pan cracks, which is why we often convert them to a Schluter strip system (the metal trim that seals the edge where tile meets flooring) with a proper waterproof membrane. For OEM Abodu vanities and fixtures, we stock direct-replacement hardware for the common cabinet hinge and drawer slide failures. When an OEM part is backordered, we use aftermarket equivalents from the same specification grade, KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone among them, but we never mix a lower-tier part into an Abodu build without telling you and putting it in writing first.

Signs Your Abodu Bathroom Remodeling Is Failing

  • Baseboard darkening near the shower. Water is wicking behind the tile or under the pan. By the time the baseboard changes color, the moisture has usually been working for months, and the subfloor beneath the wet area is already compromised.
  • Vanity drawer faces peeling or swelling. Abodu’s original cabinet boxes in many Miami units are MDF with a laminate face. South Florida humidity is hard on them, especially if the bath fan is underpowered or vented poorly.
  • Grout cracking along the shower floor. This is either pan movement or substrate flex. Cracked grout is the first entry point for water, and it will not self-heal.
  • A musty smell that comes back within a day of cleaning. That’s mold or mildew feeding inside a wall cavity or beneath the pan. Air fresheners don’t fix this, and neither does re-caulking the visible seam.
  • Floor tile tenting or sounding hollow when tapped. The mortar bed has lost bond. Hollow-sounding tile is a tear-out situation, not a re-grout job, and walking on it only spreads the damage.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For Abodu bathrooms in Miami, here’s what we quote, written out before any work starts:

  • Full bathroom remodel: $10,620 – $33,040
  • Small bathroom remodel (half bath or compact Abodu studio bath): $5,900 – $14,160
  • Walk-in shower installation: $5,310 – $14,160
  • Tub-to-shower conversion: $4,130 – $11,800
  • Shower replacement: $3,540 – $10,030
  • Bathroom vanity installation: $945 – $3,540

Every line includes parts, labor, demolition and disposal, fasteners, sealants, and the waterproofing system named on the quote. What moves you through the range: whether we’re keeping the existing footprint or moving the drain, whether the subfloor needs section replacement (it usually does around a failed shower), and what finish level you pick for tile, fixtures, and the vanity. The price we hand you is the price you pay. No change orders unless you ask to change the scope. Every Abodu bath we remodel in Miami is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we come back and make it right at no cost.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely swap a showerhead, a toilet seat, a cabinet pull, or a faucet aerator. Beyond that, Abodu bathrooms in Miami punish shortcuts because of one thing: water. If you try to re-tile a shower wall without a proper backer board and waterproof membrane behind it, the tile will look fine for six months and then you’ll have mold framing that costs triple to fix. The same goes for a vanity replacement where the shutoff valves are old, or a drain line that didn’t leak because it wasn’t touched. Tearing out a shower pan, moving a drain, or replacing subfloor under an existing Abodu wet wall are jobs where a wrong move means spraying water inside a wall you’ll never see until the damage is structural. That’s the point where we tell people to call us. We show up with the name and photo of every technician before they arrive, ID badge at the door, and a written price before any work starts.
