Unilock Fence Installation: The Miami Owner’s Guide
Unilock fence installation in Miami typically runs $4,130 to $10,620 for a complete project, depending on linear footage, terrain, and whether we’re pulling out an old fence or starting fresh. We stock Unilock-compatible components and can usually schedule within one to two weeks, not months. Most owners discover a problem the same way: a gate that suddenly drags, a post that’s tilting after a storm, or a section that’s started to bow inward during the humid stretch of summer.

The Miami climate does specific things to fence hardware. Salt air eats at untreated fasteners. The wet-dry cycle of rainy season and winter drought makes posts shift in sandy soil. And the UV exposure from a Miami summer fades and brittles lower-grade materials faster than manufacturers admit. If your Unilock fence was installed years ago by someone who cut corners on the base prep, you’ll see it now.
Which Unilock Models This Applies To

Unilock’s fence and wall systems run across several product lines, but the installation principles stay consistent whether you have Brussels Dimensional Stone, Rivercrest Wall, or the Estate Wall system. The key compatibility question is always the same: what’s behind the face. Unilock segments lock onto a structural core, and if that core was built with the wrong aggregate or without proper drainage, the facing fails regardless of how good it looks from the street.
When we arrive, we check the backside of the segments for the Unilock product stamp and measure the lip profile. Older Estate Wall units use a wider rear lip than current production, which means swapping in a new segment from a different run can leave a visible seam. If a client wants us to match an older installation, we photograph the profile and take measurements before ordering anything. Aftermarket equivalents exist, but for Unilock specifically we recommend OEM units on visible courses. The color variance between batches is already a known issue, and aftermarket pieces make it worse.
We also stock and install fence systems from Belgrad and Techo-Bloc, so if a full replacement makes more sense than chasing Unilock-specific matches, we’ll tell you plainly. Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent contractor, not a Unilock dealer or affiliate.

Signs Your Unilock Fence Installation Is Failing
- Post lean within the first two years. This usually means the footer wasn’t poured deep enough for Miami’s sandy soil, or the post wasn’t set below the frost line with proper drainage. Once a post starts tilting, it won’t correct itself. Every additional storm pushes it further.
- Gate drag or latch misalignment. In Miami, gates fail at the hinge first because the constant humidity swells wood frames and loosens hardware. If you’re lifting the gate to close it, the post has shifted or the hinges are pulling out of the substrate.
- Gaps opening between segments. This is a base-prep failure. When the gravel bed under the first course washes out during heavy rain, the wall settles unevenly and segments separate. You’ll see it most on the low side of a sloped yard.
- White chalky residue on the face. Efflorescence is common on concrete products in humid climates, but continuous blooming after the first year means water is moving through the wall, not around it. The drainage detail behind the face was skipped or clogged.
- Cracks running through multiple units in a straight line. That’s a settlement crack, not a material defect. It follows a weak point in the footing and usually means tree roots, erosion, or a poorly compacted base underneath.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a typical Miami property, expect full Unilock fence replacement between $4,130 and $10,620. The bottom of that range covers a short run of 30 to 40 linear feet with stable ground and easy access. The top end is for longer runs, sloped terrain, or jobs where we’re removing and hauling away an existing concrete or chain-link fence first.
What drives the price here more than anything is what’s under the ground. Miami yards sit on everything from solid coral rock to loose fill. If we hit rock, excavation slows down and disposal costs climb. If we hit fill, the footing depth increases and we bring in more base material.
Every estimate is a written, line-item number before any work starts. No verbal ballpark that grows later, no change orders unless you ask for something different. Parts, labor, haul-away, and the guarantee are listed separately. Our workmanship warranty covers the installation for 365 days from the completion date. If a post shifts or a segment separates in that window, we return and fix it at no charge. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s in writing on every proposal.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself. Look for standing water at the base after rain. Watch whether the gate post moves when you push on it. Run a level across the top course. Those observations help us diagnose faster when we arrive.
What we don’t recommend is pulling segments apart to “see what’s behind there.” Unilock units are heavy. A single Estate Wall segment can weigh over 80 pounds. When one comes free, the course above it is suddenly unsupported, and that’s how fingers get pinched and toes get crushed. If the failure involves a post set in concrete, leave it. Cutting out and resetting a post without the right equipment usually means a broken saw blade, a destroyed wheelbarrow, or a back injury.

FAQs

In Miami’s climate, a properly installed Unilock fence with correct drainage and base prep lasts 20 to 30 years on the structural core, though the facing may need cosmetic attention at the 10 to 15 year mark. The weak points are always the base and the fasteners, not the stone itself. Call (850) 780-8123 if you want us to assess what you have and whether it’s worth repairing or replacing.
A single settled section can often be re-laid if the base is still sound, which costs less than full replacement. Once multiple sections have separated or the posts have shifted, patching becomes a temporary fix. Call (850) 780-8123 for a straight answer and a written quote either way.
A standard 40 to 50 linear foot installation takes three to five working days in Miami, including removal of the old fence and base prep. Weather delays happen, especially during hurricane season, but we’ll give you a schedule in writing when we price the job. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll talk through your timeline.
We stock common Unilock-compatible components and hardware on our trucks, and for less common profiles we order directly from our supplier network, which includes Unilock, Belgard, and Techo-Bloc. You won’t need to manage any material sourcing. Call (850) 780-8123 and tell us what you’re working with.
