Wellborn Driveway & Pavers: The Miami Owner’s Guide
If you have a Wellborn paver driveway, walkway, or patio in Miami and a section has settled, cracked, or shifted, we stock the replacement pavers and matching materials to bring it back to level, and we install them throughout Miami-Dade, including Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and Palmetto Bay. Typical installed pricing for paver driveway repair and replacement runs $8260 – $21240 for a full driveway, while targeted section repairs and single-paver swaps usually fall between $295 and $825 depending on the area involved. Most homeowners discover the problem after a storm when water pools in a low spot, or when a paver edge starts crumbling near the driveway apron.

Mason Remodeling Co Miami is an independent service provider. We’re not affiliated with Wellborn, but we work with Wellborn paver lines and their common dimensional specs every week, and we know exactly what matches and what doesn’t.
Which Wellborn Models This Applies To

Wellborn produces concrete pavers in the three sizes most commonly used for Miami driveways: 4″ x 8″, 6″ x 9″, and 12″ x 12″, with thicknesses of 60mm for residential driveways and 80mm for commercial or heavier-vehicle applications. If you’re unsure which you have, pull a paver from an edge and look at the underside. The size is usually stamped there, and the thickness tells us whether it was rated for vehicle traffic or foot traffic only. That distinction matters more than most people think in Miami, where a paver rated for a patio will fail within a few years under a daily car load.
The second thing to check is color and finish. Wellborn’s Miami-installed lines include tumbled and smooth-face finishes in gray, tan, and a blended charcoal, and matching an older paver requires seeing it in daylight, not from a phone photo. We always bring a physical color sample set to the estimate so you can see the match in place before we order. For OEM versus aftermarket: Wellborn pavers are batch-cast, so color variation between production runs is real. An aftermarket equivalent can match dimensionally but not tonally. If you care about the driveway looking uniform, OEM is worth the small premium. If the repair is in a low-visibility area, a quality aftermarket paver with the same dimensions and a close color match will hold up just fine.

Signs Your Wellborn Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Water pooling after rain. This means the sand base under the pavers has washed out or compacted unevenly, usually at a joint or along the driveway edge. In Miami’s wet season, the problem accelerates because water keeps finding the same low path.
- Rocking or loose pavers. A paver that shifts underfoot has lost edge restraint or bedding support. It’s not just annoying; it’s a tripping hazard, and the sooner it’s reset, the less base material you lose.
- Crumbling edges or corner spalling. Miami’s heat cycles expand and contract the concrete, and older pavers near a sprinkler line or pool deck with constant moisture spall first. Once the face starts flaking, replacement is the real fix, not patching.
- Sunken depressions or a visible dip. A low spot almost always traces back to base failure beneath the pavers, not the pavers themselves. In South Florida, organic soil and poor initial compaction are the usual culprits. Replacing only the pavers won’t fix it; the base has to be dug out and rebuilt.
- Mismatched color patches from past repairs. This one’s cosmetic, but it bugs homeowners constantly. A previous contractor grabbed whatever paver was on the truck, and now you have a patchwork driveway. The fix is removing the mismatched section and replacing it with a matched batch.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Full paver driveway installation in Miami runs $8260 – $21240, and the spread comes down to three things: total square footage, how much base work is required, and whether we’re reusing any existing pavers. A standard two-car driveway with a proper compacted base, new edge restraints, and sand-joint stabilization lands in the middle of that range. A section repair where we pull, re-grade, and reset an area of 100 square feet or less typically runs $295 – $825, and if the pavers are still good, you’re only paying for labor and base material, not new product.
Every quote from Mason Remodeling Co Miami is written, not verbal, and it comes before any work starts. The price you approve is the price you pay. No change orders for material that was ‘more than expected.’ The work is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we make it right at no cost to you.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely inspect your Wellborn driveway yourself. Check for rocking pavers, note where water pools, and measure any visibly sunken area. That information saves time when you call. What you shouldn’t do is start pulling pavers along the driveway edge to ‘just look’ at the base. Driveway edges are load-bearing, and once you break the edge restraint, you’ve created a new failure point that will worsen until the section is properly rebuilt. Same goes for adding sand to fill low joints: if the base is failing, you’re just hiding the symptom for a month.
If the damage is a cracked paver or two, a small sunken spot, or a cosmetic mismatch from an old repair, that’s a job we can usually complete in a single visit. If the base is compromised, the honest fix is a section rebuild. Tell me what you need done. I’ll tell you what it costs and when it’s finished, and I’ll mean both. Call (850) 780-8123 and we’ll come look.
FAQs

A properly installed Wellborn concrete paver driveway in Miami lasts 20 to 30 years, with the base typically failing before the pavers themselves. Salt air near the coast and heavy wet-season rain reduce the effective life of the sand base, which is why joint stabilization and edge restraint matter more here than in drier climates. Call (850) 780-8123 for an evaluation of your specific driveway.
A cracked paver cannot be reliably repaired; it needs to be replaced with a matching paver. Attempts to patch or seal a crack fail quickly under vehicle weight and Miami’s heat cycles, and the repair usually looks worse than the crack. We can pull and swap a single paver in under an hour when we have the right match.
A typical section repair of 100 square feet or less takes one day, including removing the old pavers, recompacting the base, and resetting the surface. The repaired area is ready for foot traffic immediately and vehicle traffic the following morning. Call (850) 780-8123 for an exact timeline based on your repair.
We keep common Wellborn sizes in gray and tan on hand for everyday repairs, and we can source batch-matched OEM pavers for larger or color-sensitive projects within a few days. When we come to give you a written estimate, we bring physical samples so there’s no guessing on the match.
If you’re also dealing with a broader project, we stock and install parts for KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria surfaces, and Silestone countertops throughout the Miami area. But if it’s a driveway issue, start there. Call (850) 780-8123 for a free estimate, and we’ll have Isaac or one of our Miami crew members out to look at it.
