Why Miami Homeowners Choose Toto Construction

Mason Remodeling Co Miami provides independent Miami Toto service for construction, repair, and installation throughout Miami, from Coral Gables to the coast. Our crews work on Toto’s most specified models daily, from Neorest smart toilets to the EcoPower faucet line, so we know exactly how their mounting systems and electronics behave in Miami’s humidity and corrosive coastal air. We are not authorized by or affiliated with Toto, but that independence means we tell you the truth about what needs fixing and what doesn’t. Call (850) 780-8123 for a free estimate.

What actually fails on Toto fixtures in Miami is different from what fails in Phoenix or Chicago. Chloramine in the municipal water eats flappers and fill valves. Salt air accelerates corrosion on control boards and sensor housings. Hard water scale clogs spray nozzles and seizes turbine cartridges. We see these failures every week, and we fix them with the right parts the first time. This page is the resource we wish every Miami homeowner had before they called a plumber who guessed.

Why Trust Mason Remodeling Co Miami for Your Toto Construction?

A low-threshold walk-in shower with a bench and grab bar

Isaac Pruett, our owner, has been building and fixing things in South Florida for well over a decade. He picked up his first framing hammer before he could legally drive, earned his construction trade certificate from Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, and spent years working every phase of residential builds before relocating his operation to Miami. That background matters when a Toto fixture isn’t just a plumbing problem but a construction problem: a toilet that needs to be pulled and reset without cracking a newly tiled floor, a shower valve that requires opening a wall, a Neorest that needs a dedicated circuit run to it.

Our technicians know Toto’s mounting systems, electronics, and failure points. We use genuine Toto OEM parts whenever tight tolerances matter, like Washlet spray nozzles and Neorest sensor arrays. For routine Drake rebuilds, we often recommend quality aftermarket fill valves and flappers because they outlast the originals in Miami’s chloramine-treated water. We’re not loyal to a logo. We’re loyal to what keeps your fixture working for the next decade. Every technician who arrives at your door is background-checked, identity-verified, wears a clean marked uniform, and shows a photo ID badge. You’ll know the name and face of who’s coming before they ring the bell. That’s the Threshold Standard, and it’s how every Mason Remodeling job runs in Miami.

Common Toto Construction Problems We Fix in Miami

  • Washlet electronic seat failures from hard water scale and humidity corrosion. The Washlet line, including the C2 and C5 series, has a control board inside the seat housing. In Miami’s humidity, moisture creeps past the seal and corrodes the board connections. Hard water scale then clogs the spray nozzles. Symptoms: no power, blinking lights, weak spray, or the seat won’t heat. We diagnose the board first, because replacing an entire seat for a $40 nozzle assembly is wasteful.
  • Neorest auto-flush sensor calibration drift from mineral content in Miami water. The Neorest 700H and NX series rely on an infrared sensor to trigger the flush. Mineral film builds up on the sensor lens over time, and the unit either flushes when nobody’s there or won’t flush when someone is. This is a calibration and cleaning issue more often than a parts failure, but the recalibration procedure is finicky. We do it correctly, not with a damp paper towel and hope.
  • Drake toilet flapper and fill valve degradation from chloramine. The Drake line, particularly the Drake II and Drake Tornado Flush models, ships with rubber flappers and a fill valve designed for neutral municipal water. Miami’s water treatment uses chloramine, which hardens and warps rubber parts faster than chlorine does. A Drake that runs every 10 to 15 minutes usually has a warped flapper, not a ghost. We swap in a chloramine-rated assembly and the problem stops.
  • EcoPower faucet turbine seizures from sediment and lime scale. Toto’s EcoPower faucets generate their own power from water flow through a micro-turbine. That turbine has tight clearances. Sediment and lime scale from Miami’s water eventually bind the impeller. The faucet either drips, runs at a trickle, or the auto-sensor becomes unresponsive because the turbine isn’t generating enough charge. Cleaning sometimes works. Replacing the turbine cartridge is the permanent fix.
  • Mounting and rough-in issues on Toto wall-hung toilets during remodels. This is a construction problem, not a plumbing problem. Wall-hung Toto models, including the Aquia and Carlyle II wall-hung, need a rigid in-wall carrier system installed correctly before any tile goes up. If the carrier is set too deep or too shallow, or the framing flexes, the bowl sits wrong and eventually leaks at the seal. We’ve fixed several Miami remodels where a previous contractor guessed on the carrier placement. It’s a tear-out to fix, so we set them right the first time.

In a Coral Gables condo, our crew replaced a Drake toilet’s original fill valve that was humming loudly and running every 20 minutes. The water had so much chloramine the flapper was warping, so we upgraded both to a Korky quiet-fill assembly and then rebuilt the next two units with the same setup. No leaks, no noise, and the HOAs stopped complaining about water waste.

Toto Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

A powder room with botanical wallpaper and a stone sink

Toto makes precise fixtures. The Washlet spray nozzle assembly is a tight-tolerance component with very small orifices. The Neorest sensor array is calibrated at the factory. For these parts, we use genuine Toto OEM replacements. An aftermarket nozzle might fit, but it won’t spray the same pattern, and the mineral resistance won’t match the original.

For Drake toilets, the math changes. The original flapper and fill valve are decent parts, but they don’t hold up to Miami’s chloramine. A quality aftermarket fill valve and flapper, like the Korky quiet-fill assemblies we stock, typically outlast the originals in this water. We keep common Toto parts on our trucks: fill valves, flappers, spray nozzles, turbine cartridges, and sensor assemblies. If we don’t have it, we source it from a local supply house, usually same-day.

When the repair cost approaches 50% to 60% of a quality replacement fixture on a unit that’s 15 years old or more, we say so. Especially in Miami, where salt air has been working on the internal electronics for years. We don’t pad repairs. We tell you the number and let you decide. Call (850) 780-8123 if you want a straight answer on your Toto fixture.

Our Toto Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We identify the exact failure point. For a Drake running toilet, that means checking the fill valve shutoff, flapper seating, and water level. For a Washlet, we test the power supply, control board, and nozzle function before touching anything. You get a written diagnosis and a fixed price before work starts.
  2. 2
Repair or installation. We use the right parts for the job: OEM for tight-tolerance Toto components, aftermarket only where it’s genuinely better. If we’re installing a new Toto fixture during a remodel, we set the rough-in and mounting hardware before tile, stone, or drywall goes up. That’s the difference between a fixture that stays solid and one that leaks in three years.
  3. 3
Testing. We run the fixture through its full cycle. That means flushing five times, cycling the Washlet spray and heat functions, triggering the Neorest sensor from multiple distances, and running the EcoPower faucet until the turbine charges. Then we inspect for leaks at every connection.
  4. 4
Your guarantee. Every job is covered by a written guarantee with clearly stated terms: what’s covered, what’s excluded, and for how long. We stand behind the work for 365 days from the completion date. If something we fixed fails within that year, we come back and make it right at no cost to you. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise.

Toto Products We Service & Install in Miami

A remodeled hall bathroom with patterned floor tile and painted walls

We work on the Toto fixtures most commonly specified in Miami remodels and new construction:

  • Neorest – the flagship integrated toilet with auto-flush, heated seat, warm-air dryer, and air deodorizer. We service the 700H and NX series, including sensor calibration, pump replacement, and board diagnostics.
  • Washlet – the electronic bidet seat that retrofits onto standard Toto bowls. We service C2, C5, and S-series seats, including nozzle replacement, board repair, and remote pairing.
  • Drake – the best-selling Toto toilet, including the Drake II and Tornado Flush models. We handle fill valve replacement, flapper changes, supply line replacement, and full bowl resets.
  • EcoPower – the self-generating faucet line used in many Miami condo buildings. We service turbine cartridges, sensor modules, and mixing valves.

We stock the most common replacement parts for all four lines on our trucks, so most Miami service calls are completed same-day. If you’re planning a full bathroom remodel, a walk-in shower with EcoPower fixtures, or a vanity installation with Toto in Miami Beach or elsewhere, we’ll spec the fixtures and install them as part of the build.

We Also Service These Brands

Toto is a fixture we know deeply, but it’s not the only one.
